Xmic Acoustic listening equipment
This is a ground listening device with use of a microphone/sensor positioned in a ground probe, tripod and probe rods as seen below. These are used in conjunction with headphones and a control /amplifier module that registers peaks relating to high frequency noise resulting from leaks from damaged pipe work. The leak location can be narrowed by listening at accessible contact points (stopcocks) and then following the line of the existing pipe work until a satisfactory result can be achieved.
